Disconnect by Imran Siddiq Tour ~ Review

Disconnect by Imran Siddiq
Series: Divided Worlds Trilogy, #1

Publication date: February 22nd 2013
Genre: YA Sci-Fi

In space, love has boundaries.

Dirtying fingernails in sewers is fast approaching worthlessness for Zachary, a 16-year old Underworld scavenger. When footage of an Overworld girl,  Rosa, is discovered, his intrigue heightens at why she expresses sadness with a lavish lifestyle.

In meeting Rosa, Zachary is scorned by her opinion of the deprived. She pities him and provides a means for them to communicate. With time, friendship and something he’s never felt grows; love for another human. Knowing Rosa calls him when it suits her isn’t enough; he wants to meet her, but how? Relationships in Underworld are few, let alone the impossibility with those above the ceiling.

Underworld will suffer when plans to conquer Jupiter’s moon, Europa move ahead. Worse is Rosa’s father, a disgraced Overworld ambassador, approving the plan.

Zachary must defeat the prejudice of the worlds, sneak within opposing forces, lose friends and challenge Rosa’s sadness. In doing so, a twisted secret is uncovered that may devour the reason he lives; Rosa.

AUTHOR BIO

Imran Siddiq may have tried to leave Leicester a few times, but its become his place to wake up to two cats, freeze when the heating’s off and most of all, get down to writing. At a young age, his primary school teacher commented on his creativity and ability to tell stories.  At the age of 29, during a night in the jungle, the bug inside awakened, and for the last 5 years he’s been sacrificing every second that he can to write. A veteran of writing festivals, a presence on Twitter and gobbling up all forms of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, he hopes he can bring a smile to others in the same way that he had, aged 5, reading with a torch under his duvet. Imran’s preferred genre  is YA Sci Fi, and he has a tendency to throw a droid in every novel.

My Review

This story is from Zachary's point of view, he's a scavenger in the future. But when he sees a sad girl, everything changes.

I know this relationship will remind a few about Romeo and Juliet, and I think that the author really wanted they look alike. That's why I loved this couple. Zachary starts a quest to find this girl, Rosa, with the help of an android.

I usually don't read sci-fi, it's not that I don't like it, but it's really annoying to find a book that's not unique, and not something exciting. And that's not what happens with this book.

It's a fast read that I really enjoy since the first pages, though at first, it was hard for me to get along with it, I felt like I missed some things and I had to re-read it but at the end I loved it.

I really don't want to say many things about the story of the book, because I think it's like a precious gem everyone needs to find out about it by yourself. I'm just going to say that, sci-fi lovers have a new book that will love for eternity. It's clean, even in the moments when you say there has to be something else, it's appropiate and I didn't even mind not having more than it.

It has something else, the power of questioning about different topics. Androids, future, love, family, politics, could this be our future? Androids? Hmm.. I hope if there are androids in the future to be like Patch, he really was something! HA!

All Over You by Emily Snow Review

All Over You (Devoured 0.5) by Emily Snow

http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1353434576l/16161536.jpgBefore Sienna was devoured, before Lucas was consumed, they were all over each other . . .

Lucas Wolfe is used to getting what he wants—from everyone but one person, that is—so when he meets the wardrobe assistant hired to work his band’s newest video, he’s got to have her. From the moment Sienna first obediently whispers “Yes, Mr. Wolfe”, he knows she’s perfect for him.

Three days.

And he’ll have her stripped down and bound to his bed.

Set two years before the events of DEVOURED, ALL OVER YOU is the story of Sienna and Lucas’s first encounter.
ebook. 57 pages

Review
I can't remember how I ended up with this book on Amazon. I was intrigued because it has the same models as the ones on the cover of Easy by Tammara Webber. When I read the blurb.. I knew it wasn't like it. At all. They can share the same models on cover but not the same story. Though, they do coincidentially, have the same principal character's name: Lucas. It was free, it was a good blurb, only 57 pages. Why not read it?
After I started reading, I was literally drawn into the world of Sienna and Lucas... OMG! A ROCK STAR!!! The chemistry between them was so HOT! And poor Lucas, he really has problems. I think he could have done better if he only had look for her after what happened, but the end, definitely left you hungry for more. I HAVE TO BUY the next book: Devoured.
4 Stars!!
